Maine Wedding Photographer {the bridal shower}

I was asked to shoot one of my brides bridal shower, of course I said YES! This past Saturday Amanda's friends and family got together to throw her her bridal shower.

Amanda is getting married in the fall and her colors for her wedding are all fall colors so of course the shower was fall themed as well. Even her dress was shades of fall and looked fabulous on her!

She will be a stunning bride!

I loved the wildflower in mason jars on all the tables( it's what I had at my wedding so I might be partial hehe). And I love, loved the little dog! haha Amanda has a little french bulldog(? is that right Amanda) named Fenway who I think maybe resembles the little guy in the photos. :)

The little book you see is used to write down all the gifts and the givers for Amanda to use for her Thank You's, so much cuter than a scrap of paper like I always do.

PS see that photo up there of the sunflower, yeah my kind of amazing hubby took that. <3

All of Amanda's presents were wrapped so nicely you almost hated to see her open them. I fell in love with this little bushel basket with sunflowers decorating it and beautiful gold wrapped presents inside, kudos to the gift giver!

Amanda's sister in law to be had two bottles of wine labeled with Amanda and Greg's wedding date, such a great idea and so thoughtful.

The favors for all the guests were stunning as well... I think I took 15 pictures of just these little brown boxes. hehe

Amanda's sister made her cake for the shower and it was beautiful! I loved everything about it, the flowers, the colors, the two tiers... just beautiful!

She was totally spoiled with gifts, in a good way! Some of the guests and I were discussing how we could throw ourselves a bridal shower a few years after the fact because we needed some new household items and Amanda got some very useful very thoughtful things. :)

Amanda's Aunt made her a quilt with the date of the wedding and her and her fiance's name sewn onto a heart in the middle. I was such a lovely gift and something that Amanda and Greg will cherish forever.

I simply cannot wait for their wedding, I know it is going to be a beauitful night, with a beautiful bride.

Amanda thank you for trusting us with your big day and your shower. We loved meeting all of your family and friends and look forward to seeing them all again very soon.

Damariscotta Maine Senior Photographer { simply gorgeous }

Normally I try to think of a title that describes the shoot and the person but I try to be a bit creative, today I have to throw creativity out the window and just tell it like it is, everything about this shoot including Alex was simply gorgeous!

We decided to meet at the DRA(Damariscotta River Association) and I was excited to finally shoot there, it looked really beautiful from the road every time I drove by. SooOoo since I had never actually stopped and explored the place Paul and I decided to drive over earlier in the day and explore. Rolling green fields, a sparkling blue pond, gorgeous old oaks and of course the river were all there, you just had to walk to get to them. We set out to walk down to the river so I could see if I could find any spots I really wanted to bring Alex, it was a nice walk.... down...... back up, the hill of death, not so much. It was as I was halfway up said hill that I decided two things, I MUST start excercising and no way was I bringing Alex down over that hill because it would mean me having to walk back up it. Hill of Death twice in one day was a great big HECK NO.  Being the enterprising girl that I am I found lots of great views and sweet spots to photograph Alex in right there at the top of the hill. :)

Alex and her Mum arrived and we got right down to business, or not, maybe we talked a bit about school first. :)

Alex was ready though and pulled out all her best poses, this girl is a pro!

A total PRO.. just look at those eyes... that smile..... I love my job!

After the Hill of Death I knew I needed another location to get just a bit more diversity and I knew just the place... the other half of the DRA! What was here you ask? Rolling green fields(filled with prickles, just ask Alex), old barns, silos and buildings galore and some pretty awesome metal sculptures. Kind of a photographers dream really.

I loved this little alley between two of the barns/outbuildings and Alex made it fabulous!

PS don't you think her dress is to die for?! LooOoove it!

An old silo and chippy painted walls? Yes please! Again Alex rocking it out, girl is amazing!

Did I mention she is also a ballet dancer, en pointe no less.. yeah...... like I said...

Simply Gorgeous <3

Thank you so much Alex and Roxanne for trusting us with your senior photos. We had a great time wandering and chatting and taking pictures.  And Alex you ROCK you didn't complain once even when you I unknowingly had you walk straight into the middle of the prickley field.

Bristol Maine Senior Photographer {boy!}

I don't get to photograph many senior boys, they just aren't as into it as girls tend to be so whenever I get asked to shoot a senior boy I jump at the chance.

I know Andrew from the photos on his Aunt's fridge, photos that need to be updated by the way. hehe Big brown eyes and a smile that is just like his cousins, I knew this would be a fun shoot!

Paul and I arrived at Aunty K's house(otherwise known as Poppy's Momma's Momma) and the first thing we were asked was "no dogs?". LOL It makes me laugh, there were four labradors there already I didn't think we needed my heathens added to the mix. :)

I chatted with Andrew's Mom and then we headed out to explore the lay of the land. Andrew immediately thought I might just be a little weird when I leaned him up against a tree and told him firmly to "stay!", I might have even Ceasar Milan "shhhhh"ed him.  I was at the doggy house I couldn't quite get out of my dog training mindset. :)

Then I asked Andrew to have a seat in front of the shed, I could see him thinking how crazy he thought I was but he did it without questioning.  Totally worth it!

He is a quiet type, with gorgeous eyes and a killer smile, when he decides to use it.

See!

How could I go to Aunty K's without taking pictures of dogs? I can't! These are Andrew's two dogs Riza and Kia, they are the most well behaved dogs ever. Getting a photo of them took me 5 minutes at most, they sat where they were supposed to sit, they looked right at me and smiled(yes dogs do to smile!).  Andrew however was a bit less obediant just look at him.. not even looking at the camera. hehe Actually he was talking to his Mom and I think the smile he had for her was just too sweet to not share.

Sorry Andrew I had to do it.

He cleans up nice too and he knows it.. just look at that swagger.

Betsy thank you so much for having me take Andrew's senior photos, I loved chatting with Andrew and you. I hope we get to visit more the next time you're down. :)

Andrew have an absolutley fantastic senior year!!!

Maine Coastal Wedding Photographer {a wedding at the lighthouse}

Sherry and I have been corresponding via email for a few weeks now, but I didn't actually get to meet her until last night... the night before her wedding! I knew from the moment I walked into the room and saw her smiling at me that we were going to get along just fine!

Sherry and her fiance, Jeff, decided to get married here in Bristol at The Lighthouse, just them and their best friends Debby and AJ. It was a very sweet service overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and watched over by the lighthouse itself.

Then we headed down on the rocks for a few shots of the happy couple.

Jeff is totally in love with Sherry you can see it in the way he was always touching her. <3

Sherry is totally in love with Jeff too.... she is so at peace when he is around. double <3

and Jeff might just be a bit of a clown... we LOVE that!

They all just had a great time celebrating Jeff and Sherry and their new life together.

And one last oshot.. a sweet moment between Jeff and his new bride... *sigh* LOVE

Thank you so much Jeff and Sherry for having Paul and I come out and be part of your day. It was a beautiful day for a beauitful ceremony.

Liz xoxo

PS Yes I did convince Jeff and Sherry to wade into the water in their wedding attire... SO worth it though. ;)

Maine Senior Photographer {favorites}

Sometimes, actually every time I edit a session I find at least 2 or 3 more photos that I didn't share on the blog that I really wish I had. Alyssa's whole session was like that, seriously choosing just a few to share initially was h.a.r.d. so I decided to share a few more!

Every one of these make me happy... smile ear to ear happy.
